What should I do if I have been injured in a car accident?
Follow a simple five step process.
- Call the police and have them take a report;
- Take photos of the accident scene, and any damage to vehicles/property;
- Speak with a witness and take down their contact information;
- Obtain the insurance information from the other driver;
- See a doctor—regardless if you feel injured at that moment or not.
After completion of the five step process, call our office at 972-436-8750. We would be happy to walk you through your options for maximum compensation.
Why do I need an attorney?
After a severe accident, hiring an attorney is your best chance at receiving the maximum compensation possible. Insurance companies are not in a rush to pay out claims, and may even use your conversations with them against you. The attorneys at the Haugen Law Firm, P.C. ensure that the insurance companies takes your claim seriously.
What types of personal injury cases do you take?
Haugen Law Firm, P.C. has the resources to take any personal injury case. Specifically, our attorneys are intimately familiar with injury cases pertaining to car accidents, truck accidents, boating accidents, construction site accidents, wrongful death, mass torts, and pharmaceutical liability.
What compensation may I be entitled to?
You may be compensated for your medical expenses, lost work time, reduced earning capability, property damage, and pain and suffering. In wrongful death cases, you may also be granted compensation for financial support, mental and emotional distress, and loss of companionship.
What can I expect in my FREE consultation?
Your personal Haugen Law Firm P.C. attorney will review the facts of your case and ask questions about your accident. The consultation is also your opportunity to ask any questions you may have. As long as we are in business, there will be zero upfront costs to you.
How long will it take to resolve my case?
Every case is different. However, as a general rule, the more complex the injury, the more time your case will take. Injuries that require surgery and/or extensive rehabilitation must be handled with professional precision to ensure appropriate compensation.
Can I file suit on behalf of a deceased loved one?
Yes. You may file a suit on behalf of your immediate family members—children, parents, and spouse.
Can I sign-up over the phone?
Yes. We have an easy-to-use program that allows you to sign-up from the comfort of your own home.
Will I have to testify?
It depends. In most cases, the victim of the personal injury does not testify. This is because the vast majority of injury cases settle before they ever see a courtroom. However, if your case proceeds to the final trial, you will likely be required to tell your story to a jury.
Who pays for my compensation?
In most cases, compensation is paid by the insurance company of the person that is responsible for your injury. If they do not have insurance then there is potential to sue the person individually. It will largely depend on the facts of your case.
I am only mildly injured—can I get my medical bills covered?
We take all types of cases—from mild injuries to the most severe. It is our mission at the Haugen Law Firm, P.C. to receive the maximum compensation possible so that you can pay off all medical bills.
What are the common injuries you see from construction site accidents?
Construction workers often suffer from broken or sprained limbs, burns, brain injuries, and even asphyxiation. Vehicle accidents involving the transportation of materials or equipment can also pose as substantial hazards.
